    I built a pressure washer set up using the Merlin retractable air hose reel from Harbor freight. Unfortunately I keep getting a leak on the swivel as I think the O-rings are not intended for high-pressure. I’ve replaced them and it still starts to leak again. Can you or anyone recommend a replacement swivel or some other way to deal with this? TIA.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav 23 часа назад

      I am unsure on that I know some have tried to turn air hose reels into poressure washer reels, but I never went down that path. I hear its better to stay closer to 800 PSI versus 1k PSI and you tend to have less issues. Maybe somebody in the comments will be able to help. I know I have seen many nightmares with parts blowing failing and leaking and a few where parts blew off. Many end up no longer connecting the pressure washer and just use the reel for the hose storage then take it out each time to use.

    I think it's a great idea and probably the best plan for the space. I'll bet chipping out those channels was some serious labor. That looked slow & tedious. I have a metal building that I would love to convert a small section to a car wash bay. I don't have a drain and the floor is not sloped, so I'm not sure what to do. Looking around for ideas and that's what brought me to your video.

Any thoughts. I’m a big fan of keav. Many thanks. Owen from Atlanta 😊

      I have not hhad any good success using the blower port of a shop vac. I have not tried the EGO one to say for sure, but it only has 110cfm of suction so on the blower side it wouldn't be much more. For the interior carpets the Tornador style devices don't have much competition they are that good. If you have Ryobi batteries their new handheld 18v is crazy good and would do way better than a vac blower could. ATL represent!

When i had stated in the original message to them that it was leaking immediately before even pressurizing the unit. They didn’t do much actual research in the U.S. just lab testing based on perfect 120v which is a big miss on their part. They may be changing the listing for the changes that will be made when all testing is good.

      @@CarsWithKeav Thanks for sharing. It's amazing how often companies do stuff like this in failing to test product in a real world situation before releasing them. I bought a golf simulator launch monitor a few years back from a company called Earnest Sports. The thing was absolutely useless when any natural light was present. Even in a room with windows, the thing was useless. When I called support, they essentially admitted that it was never tested in the outdoor environment. I was able to get my money back within 30 days, but many folks got screwed.

      @@ILruffian Yeah, it’s a mix of not knowing the actual power grid voltage and how most homes are wired. Then they try to bring a 4 pole motor which needs all that voltage to get going if not it has to increase amps then trips the breaker or it’s own protection circuit. Nobody really has done a motor like that for this type of task in a 120v power grid. Would have been a good idea to hire a consulting group to help them launch in the U.S.

      @@lachlanmacrae5560 Sounds like an issue with the spring inside the regulator. It is supposed to retract to allow the machine to build pressure to have the pressure switch kick off. I think I have seen one other comment about that and the spring was broke. It’s just inside the 3/8 quick connect area just after the regulator adjustment knob.

      Have not had any problems and my side of the garage I come in at an angle toward the wall and cut back almost full lock to straighten out. RWD and FWD cars. Only issue I would see is if you had a car with a locked diff and pushed the gas a bit too much maybe that could spin a tile. Never tried it though. I know full race car facilities that use swisstrax and they turn cars like crazy to get them in lifts and into storage.

    Why would you drop your foam cannons more than three times its an off video let me know if im wrong right about people drop foam cannons

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav 5 дней назад

      The main point of the video was to show durability difference between clear and HDPE bottles which was a topic of discussion in many videos due to people saying their clear bottle broke. Nobody else would sacrifice their foam cannons so I decided to do it. If you wanted to know the results after one or two drops sure that’s feasible, but I wanted to know what they could handle so I went with the three drop method and then continue to increase the drop height. You would not believe how often they get dropped. I’ve had one fall off a shelf and break as well.

      We all have our ways and pressure washers are a want vs a need and I want them. I try just a garden hose every now and then and the effificiency of the pressure washer and it’s ability to clear soap residue it’s something I can’t give up. It does clean better as well after the pre-soak as it get more grime and debris off which will have less contamination in your contact wash. Some people like Starbucks and I don’t drink coffee, but I’ll splurge on a pressure washer I can use over and over and not throw away.
